Shwe Miikaan Corp
Raymond has been working in this capacity over the past five years. He’s been working closely with HIFN Chief and Council. Some of his tasks include Ministry of Transportation negotiations with respect to the expansion of Hwy 69/400. He also works closely with neighbouring First Nations on various projects to create economic spin offs from partnerships.
Raymond sits on the Lands Advisory Committee and is also the Vice-Chair for Shwe Miikaan Corporation – a construction company developed by Henvey, Magnetawan and Shawanaga First Nations to assist the Highway expansion.
The work keeps Raymond very busy, which is something he likes because it keeps him on his toes to seek out new ideas to benefit the community along with making new contacts that may support or assist with various initiatives that could lead to newly created employment or training.
Raymond brings with him a multitude of skills from past employment and education in the fields of economic development officer and training, highway construction, project management and G.I.S training.
A lifelong resident, Raymond has always appreciated the scenic and wonderful Lands and loves the water front Land along beautiful Georgian Bay along with the four inland rivers in Henvey Inlet First Nation.
